Of course we develop a joint understanding of where your brand can grow. Yes - we underpin the strategy with NPD, but we also go one step further; we recognise that developing products is only of real value if they are listed by the retailer. Additionally they only earn money if they are sold from shelf.
We therefore take product title and actively sell the product solution to the retailer. It is this single factor of owning the "sales success" that sets us apart from any other company.
We develop insight-based products, we source these carefully and strategically, and we deliver the sales solution.
By operating within the bounds of this unique model we help drive your ROI and penetration of your brand.
You retain control through the issue of a license.
There are some myths surrounding licensing – let us dispel them here and now.
At Rivermill we are unique in our approach, we understand retailing and manufacturing. Importantly we understand how brands succeed or fail within the retailer environment.

- Understanding. We immerse ourselves in the development of the product, why that particular product for the brand, why that particular product for the market, testing it with retailers before full launch.
- Category based sales. We always include a full appraisal of the current market through the eyes of the buyer – half of our senior team have been retail buyers.
- Active selling. Our sales teams actively go out and gain listings for the products, and then grow and maintain those listings. We invite the retailer to become part of the development process, question if it fits with their strategy – if not – what can we do to ensure it does?
- Managing effective supply. It is no good developing the perfect product if it does not consistently get to shelf in full and on time. This is our bread and butter. It is a strict discipline that sets us apart from any competition. We understand the importance of availability.
