THE WATCH OUTS!
Having explored and dispelled some common myths there are some “watch-outs”. This is true of any company.
Ensure you work with food industry professionals - at Rivermill the team have all worked successfully in their respective fields. All have worked within the food industry. All have a senior and hands-on approach.
It might go wrong – now what? At Rivermill our crystal ball does not always work! We have real examples of how we have fast-tracked a revised solution. We would be happy to share these with you face to face.
Choosing the wrong producing partner- it is a difficult decision – who do we trust to produce our branded product. At Rivermill we have checks and balances in place to ensure best choice. It is not always best to work with large producers! Sometimes there needs to be a hunger for success and at Rivermill we ensure selection is made with your interests at heart not the producers.
Design efficiently but ensure it is effective – at Rivermill we have our own dedicated resource. We offer this service with cost transparency to you the client. Sometimes this is used, at other times brand owners use their own agencies. We have adopted a cost effective approach to design that ensures we keep your investment levels low.
Get rich quick schemes – it is not a replacement for a considered strategy and the crafting of a category-winning sales approach. Any company that promised vast riches quickly will soon be explaining what went wrong. Our approach is consistent regardless of the challenge. The brand is king, but 100% of all development must positively answer ‘would the buyer buy’ and ‘would I buy it’ panel assessments.
At Rivermill the overriding guide to developing your brand is that it should be treated as our brand. By that we mean we should attach the same values. After all, it is only with our clients success in real sales terms that we see benefit. Nothing sold – nothing earned is our mantra.
We develop to agreed parameters and check in with you at each agreed stage. NPD is only useful if it generates sales, the products should taste good, look good and add value back to your brand.
