THE BRAND

The Food Doctor brand has been available across a number of key product categories for several years, with the range supported by Ian Marber, one of the UK’s leading nutritionists and author of over 10 titles on dietary health. At its core are his10 principles, all aimed at delivering a healthy, all natural and enriched food offering to help consumers achieve optimal health through what they eat. Rivermill were first approached in 2006 to take the brand and develop a range that would see the brand stretch into mainstream bakery within all the major multiples.

THE BACKGROUND

The mainstay of the brand is the use of natural seeds and cereals to provide a balance of fibre, protein and essential fats in all The Food Doctor’s products. Rivermill were tasked to provide an enriched version of standard products which are key to any healthy diet.

THE RESULTS

An excellent relationship has been developed between The Food Doctor team of NPD and marketeers and Rivermill. The core range of Seeded breads - Pitta Breads, Muffins and Bloomer - continue to perform extremely well in the major retailers, and are soon to be joined by further new products.
